24 X 7

I really feel pity for those news channels - they just have to play it. One story where there are 24 people giving 34 perspectives for 27 minutes. Another less important one only for 17 mins. In the middle you will have 2 breaks and 3 times when the newsreader would have read out the headlines that you have already heard 5 times in the last 2 hours (on different channels while surfing). While you have heard the newsreader's qn, the correspondent has not - it wouldn't hurt you to wait till the correspondent actually understands the question (which might irate the newsreader as well many a time) and answers that (thank god) and leaves it at that (the newsreader had to cut for the time given to her was only 7 mins for this piece). It is live anyways and what did you expect - a performance???!!! Well, I don't mean to hurt them, but, how else can you manage to be 24 X 7???

However, I must admit that there are compulsive news watchers as well. You can't believe - I actually know someone who knows the timings and watches *only the headlines* in every single channel possible - include the innumerable tamil channels - sun, jaya, vijay, sun news etc....apart from headlines today, ndtv or even aaj tak

24 X 7 may not be my cuppa tea - it surely is somebody's daily bread! ;-)
